Gladys Neumann Brauner, 87, died October 26, 2015 at Brenham Rest Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church in Zionsville, with Pastor Pat Lehrer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Friday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Gladys Brauner was born Nov. 1, 1927 in the Williams Community of Washington County to Otto and Margaret Dubbe Neumann. She was baptized Jan. 15, 1928 in St. John''s Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill by Pastor Paul Goglin and confirmed March 29, 1942 in St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brenham by Pastor Theo R. Streng. On Nov. 27, 1947 she married Edwin Brauner of the Hoddeville Community in St. Paul''s Lutheran Church of Brenham. To this union one child was born: Wayne Edward Brauner. Gladys and Edwin lived on the farm all of their lives. Gladys was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville until her death. Gladys was a kind and simple lady, a loving, warm, and gentle soul. She would welcome you with the best, biggest bear hugs and another hug when you departed. She will be missed dearly by her loving family and numerous friends, but we know that she was welcomed home by our Heavenly Father and her loving family and friends who went on before her. We love and miss you dearly! Gladys is survived by a grandson: Justin Wayne Brauner; great-grandchildren: Payton Elizabeth Brauner and Jacob Wayne Brauner; brothers Alvin Neumann of Humble; sisters-in-law Emma Bell Neumann of Brenham, and Lorene Neumann of Bryan; nephews Larry, Dennis and Mark Neumann; nieces: Jeraldine Weaver, Pauline Bradshaw, Linda Goerger and husband Van, Debra Canady and husband John, and Cynthia Beckendorf and fiancé Vincent Hensen. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Edwin Brauner; son, Wayne Edward Brauner, and brothers Johnnie Neumann and Raymond Neumann. Serving as pallbearers are Larry Neumann, Dennis Neumann, Mark Neumann, John Carady, Craig Neumann, and Cody Beckendorf. Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church, or a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements for Gladys Brauner are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
