Lenora Wellmann

Funeral services for Lenora Wellmann, 91, widow of Harry Wellmann, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 3, 2015 at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wiedeville, with Pastor Kenneth Weiss officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Wellmann passed away June 30, 2015 at Scott and White Hospital in Brenham. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Lenora Wellmann was born in Austin County on January 9, 1924 to Willie and Annie Ludwig Remmert. She was baptized at St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem on April 20, 1924 by Rev. H. A. Heineke, and confirmed there on April 10, 1938. On March 1, 1947, she married Harry Wellmann at St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem. Mrs. Wellmann took care of her family as a homemaker. She canned vegetables from her garden, and loved baking and cooking. Her special coconut pie was a family favorite. She served her church as a Sunday School and Bible School teacher. Lenora was a member of the Ladies Circle and also sang in the church choir. Survivors include sons Donald Ray Wellmann, Glenn Dean Wellmann, Harvey Lee Wellmann, and Anthony Wellmann, all of Brenham; daughter, Barbara Kohring of Brenham; grandchildren: Cheryl Jozwiak, Lori Reichwein and husband Robert, Teresa Voskamp and husband Casey, Randall Korhing and wife Michelle, Bradley Kohring and wife Daphne, Misty Dominey and husband Lloyd, Timothy Wellmann and wife Amy, Samantha and Jonathan Pelkemeyer, Krystal Wellmann, Burt Wellmann and wife Lisa, and Amanda Sebastian and husband Josh; brother and sister-in-law Harold and Elizabeth Remmert, Arthur Lee and Laverne Remmert, and a sister-in-law, Alice Remmert, all of Bellville; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Robert and Selma Wellmann, and Ernest and Erline Wellmann. Also surviving are numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Mrs. Wellmann was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Wellmann; her parents; a son-in-law, Robert Kohring; daughter-in-law, Diana Wellmann; brothers Melvin and Wilbert Remmert; sister, Willie Mae Ramsey, and a grandson-in-law, William Joswiak. Serving as pallbearers are Randall Kohring, Bradley Kohring, Timothy Wellmann, Burt Wellmann, Ronald Bowman, Douglas Remmert, Bobbie Remmert, and Mike Remmert. Memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wiedeville. Funeral arrangements for Lenora Wellmann are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
