Vernon Klussmann

Funeral services for Vernon Klussmann are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, April 14, 2014 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Wm. Penn, with Pastor Mark Moldenhauer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m., Sunday April 13, 2014 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Mr. Klussmann passed away April 10, 2014 at his residence. Vernon Klussmann was born October 12, 1941 in Brenham to Martin F. and Esther Schroeder Klussmann. Baptized Nov. 9, 1941 at Bethlehlem Lutheran Church of Wm. Penn, he was confirmed there on March 25, 1956. He married Marilyn Kohring on Feb. 16, 1964, also at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Wm. Penn, where he continued membership until his death. Employed at Coca Cola for 37 ½ years in various positions, Vernon worked part-time after his retirement at K&H Portable Toilet. He loved hunting, fishing, and baseball, as well as spending time with his children and grandchildren. Vernon''s loyalty to his former employer was evidenced by his fondness of all Coca-Cola memorabilia. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Klussmann; sons and daughters-in-law Tim and Kathi Klussmann, Corey and Amy Klussmann, and daughter and son-in-law Sue and Rodney Gandy, all of Brenham; grandchildren: Tyler Gandy, Lindsey Marek and husband T. J. of Brenham, Kaitlyn Klussmann of Austin, Rachel Klussmann of San Marcos, Brook Klussmann, Cordel Klussmann, Connor Klussmann, and Caleb Klussmann, all of Brenham; brothers and sisters-in-law Landon and Shirley Klussmann, Rayburn and Patsy Klussmann, Karlton and Artie Klussmann, and sister and brother-in-law Kathy and Larry Molitor, all of Brenham. Other surviving relatives include sisters-in-law Pat Kohring and Barbara Kohring; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Jerry and Doris Kohring, Valgene and Diana Kohring, Sandra and Bobby Searle, Kathryn and Joe Martinez, Diane and Charles Boggan, Rebecca and Ray Wellmann; brother-in-law Danny Kohring, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Martin and Esther Klussmann, mother-in-law and father-in-law Robert and Anita Kohring, brother-in-law Robert Wayne Kohring, brother-in-law Bobbie Ray Kohring, and sisters-in-law Connie Kohring and Ruth Kohring. Serving as pallbearers are Gary Hohlt, Michael Kohring, Phillip Molitor, Bobby Schroeder, Michael Schroeder, and Balentin Pimentel. Honorary pallbearers are Destre Koehl, all nieces and nephews, the Brenham Poor Boy Hunters, Coca-Cola employees, and K&H Portable Toilet employees. Memorials may be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Wm. Penn or to any favorite charity. Funeral arrangements for Vernon Klussmann are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
