Florence Marie Hammer, 87, wife of Cecil Hammer, Sr., died June 20, 2012. Graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, June 23, 2012 in Prairie Lea Cemetery, with Charlie Matejowsky officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, June 23 at the Fellowship Baptist Church. Rev. Darren Donaldson will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:30 until 7:30 Friday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Florence Hammer was born Sept. 5, 1924 in Chappell Hill to Bob and Mary Derkowski Malinowski. She was married to Cecil Hammer on Jan. 29, 1953. In 1956, she was baptized at First Baptist Church in Brenham. A member of Fellowship Baptist Church, she was also a member of the Eastern Star. Florence was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Cecil Hammer, Sr.; sons and daughters-in-law Bobby and Jeannie Hammer of Longview, and Cecil and Lisa Hammer of Brenham; daughters Mary Ann Jackson of Houston and Cindy Foerster and husband Rodney of Brenham; grandchildren: Staci and John Dakus of Houston, Kevin Hammer of Brenham, and Shanna and Adam Graves of Longview, as well as a great-grandchild, Taylor Graves. She was preceded in death by her parents, several brothers and sisters, and a son-in-law.

Serving as pallbearers are Kevin Hammer, John Dakus, Adam Graves, Rodney Foerster, and Taylor Graves.

Memorials may be directed to Fellowship Baptist Church.
