Dorothy Wehmeyer Addicks, 89, died on Monday, September 13, 2021.
The visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 with the family present from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Salem Lutheran Church Brenham, with a burial following in the church cemetery.
Dorothy was born April 3, 1932 to Willie F. Wehmeyer, and Lillian Mueller Wehmeyer. She was baptized May 22, 1932 and confirmed April 1, 1945 at Salem Lutheran Church. Dorothy married her husband Lonnie Addicks at Salem Lutheran Church on November 11, 1951.
Dorothy worked as an administrative assistant at the Brenham Clinic, Brenham High School and at Brenham State School. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, a Sunday school superintendent and teacher. Dorothy was also involved in Dorcas Circle, usher in church, counting committee, altar guild, fellowship committee and served for funerals. She volunteered at Brenham State Supported Living Center. Dorothy loved plants, flowers and making cookies.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of almost 70 years, Lonnie Addicks; daughters and sons-in-law, Terry and Delbert Boeker, Pamela and Doug Wood; daughter, Delise Jung; sister, Judith Stephens; sisters-in-law, Dovie and Effie Addicks; brother-in-law, Floyd Addicks; grandchildren, Drew Boeker, Taylor Torres (Tito), Eric Wood, Evan Philbrick (Dan), Kendall Jung and Abby Jung; great-granddaughter, Tenley Torres, and many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, Albert and Ella Addicks; granddaughter, Lindsey Leigh Boeker; brothers and spouses, Willie Jr. and Marion Wehmeyer, Clarence and Francies Wehmeyer, and Lenert and Becky Wehmeyer; sisters and spouses, Nell and Ervin Parker Sr., JoAnn and Harold Lorenz; brothers-in-law, Richard Stephens, Ervin Addicks and Albert Addicks, Jr.; sister-in-law, Suzanne Addicks.
Memorials may be given to Salem Lutheran Church – Brenham; Hospice Brazos Valley.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel at 1306 West Main Street, Brenham, TX 77833.
