Adeline Loesch

Adeline Loesch, 98, of Kenney, died at St. Joseph''s Hospital in Bryan, Texas January 20, 2009. She was born in the Hoddeville Community on April 1, 1910 to Adolph and Minnie Knuppel Sternberg. On June 12, 1910 she was baptized at EbenEzer Lutheran Church of Berlin by Rev. Johannes Mgelsoff and confirmed April 5, 1925 by Rev. Karl Mueller at Zion Lutheran Church. She received her education at Hoddeville School located near Zionsville, Texas. On October 24, 1934 she was wed to Paul Loesch at Zion Lutheran Church by Rev. Karl Mueller. They made their home in the Kenney area and engaged in farming and ranching. Adeline was a homemaker and she and her husband, Paul, were good friends and neighbors with Reuben and Edna Mikeska for approximately 50 years. She has been an active member of St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem since 1934. At her death she was the oldest member of St. James Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Loesch, on December 24, 1982, her parents Adolph and Minnie Knuppel Sternberg, as well as sisters Elsie Luedke, Benita Rosenbaum, Hildegard Steinbach, brother Erwin Sternberg and grandson Alton Paul Loesch. She is survived by her family members, daughters Nathalie Luedke, Joyce Loesch and sons Eugene Loesch and wife Evelyn, Elroy Loesch and wife Carolyn, and Donald Loesch and wife Barbara. In addition, she is survived by grandchildren Janet Mantey and husband Robert, Linda Crabtree and husband Stan, James Luedke, Lisa Loesch, Nathan Loesch and wife Marci, Connie Oevermann and husband Troy, Debra Nienstedt and husband Ronnie, Stephen Loesch and wife Wendy, Phillip Loesch and special friend Betty Brending, David Loesch and wife Laura, Darrin Loesch and wife Allison, and Kathy Gabelman and husband Kevin. In addition, she has 16 great grandchildren. Visitation is scheduled from 6 – 8 PM on Thursday January 22, 2009 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main, Brenham, TX. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM Friday January 23, 2009 at St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem at 10362 New Wehdem Road, Brenham, TX with Rev. Jill Vivroux officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Pallbearers are David Loesch, Darrin Loesch, James Luedke, Stephen Loesch, Phillip Loesch, Robert Mantey, Ronnie Nienstedt and Troy Oevermann. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem in her memory.
