Adell Petrich Galle, 91, of Brenham, died April 6, 2004, in Trinity Care Center in Brenham. Mrs. Galle was born Aug. 27, 1912, in Greenvine, TX, to Edwald and Minnie Schilling Petrich. She was baptized Sept. 12, 1912, in Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Greenvine and was confirmed April 10, 1927, in the same church. She attended County Line School. On Dec. 18, 1931, she married her first husband, Elgin Schuette. On March 15, 1941, she married Alton Galle in First Christian Church. Mrs. Galle was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham, where she was a member of the Ladies Afternoon Society LWML. She was named Woman of the Year in 1991 and received a certificate for Outstanding Lutheran Service from Concordia Lutheran College. Mrs. Galle was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Brenda Galle of Brenham; and 3 grandchildren, Christopher Ryan Galle of Brenham, Courtney Renee Galle of Conroe and Gretchen Lynn Galle of Huntsville; special family friend, Dayna Maass Schroeder; special Godchild, Sharon Naumann Brown; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She loved her grandchildren very much. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Elgin Schuette, on Jan. 28, 1936; second husband, Alton Galle, on June 30, 2000; sister, Leonia Mueller; and brother, Alvin Petrich. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 8 in Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham with Rev. Matthew Jacobs and Rev. William Holzer officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 7 in Memorial Oaks Chapel. Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers. Those considered as honorary pallbearers will be Elroy and Carolyn Sue Maass, Ross and Dayna Schroeder, Jim and Sharon Brown, Clarence and Bernice Gaskamp, Mabel Fuelberg, Ella Mae Roehling, Pat Byrd, Marilyn Naumann, Darleen Fisher, Pastor Jon Siemsglusz and Pastor Paul and Margaret Ludwig. Memorials may be given to Hospice Brenham or Grace Lutheran Church. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
