Adolphine Oevermann

Adolphine L. (Schneider) Oevermann, 81, wife of Elwood Oevermann, died April 29, 2017 in College Station.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill, with burial to follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Pastor Kyle Merkle will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Adolphine Oevermann was born June 10, 1935 in the Prairie Hill community of Washington County to Willie and Elsie Grimm Schneider. On April 23, 1961, she married Elwood Oevermann. She worked as a cook in Brenham schools, as well as Blinn College, and remained a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill until her death.

Survivors include her husband, Elwood Oevermann of Brenham; son and daughter-in-law Troy and Connie Oevermann of Brenham; daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Ronnie Stanley of Burton; brother and sister-in-law, Glen and Deborah Schneider of Brenham; sister-in-law, Mary Lee Schneider; sisters Elsie Wegner, and Peggy Kunkel, all of Brenham; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Brett Jurica, Jared and Leah Stanley, Andrew Wagner and Alyssa Rudloff, Brianna Oevermann and John Hohlt; great-grandchildren, Eleanor Jurica and Hunter Wagner.

Mrs. Oevermann was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Willie Schneider, Jr.; brothers-in-law Elroy Oevermann, Joe Wegner, and Gene Kunkel.

Serving as pallbearers are Andrew Wagner, Jared Stanley, Brett Jurica, John Hohlt, Michael Wegner, Jerry Kunkel, and Keith Kunkel.

Honorary pallbearers are Larry Roehling and Wilbur and Margie Hohlt.

Memorials may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill.
