Adonie Kieke Mueller, 93, wife of Fritz A. Mueller, died March 27, 2015 at College Station Medical Center. Adonie Mueller was born July 23, 1921 in Washington County to Hermann and Elsie Schoenberg Kieke. On June 19, 1940, she was married to Fritz Mueller at Martin Luther Lutheran Church of Carmine. Mrs. Mueller was employed for 18 years in the maintenance department of Burton I.S.D. A wonderful cook, she was well-known for her delicious homemade cinnamon rolls and turkey and dressing, which she lovingly prepared for her family each Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. Fried chicken was her specialty for Sunday lunches after church. Gardening was a favorite hobby, but she most enjoyed precious time spent taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was never too tired or too busy to care for sick or healthy kids, and was known to say that she would rather see them being bad than being sick. Survivors include her husband of nearly 75 years, Fritz A. Mueller; daughters Janette Peters; Dorothy Poncik and husband Ben, Linda Wilke and husband Mike, and Nancy Guelker and husband Dale; grandchildren: Kevin Peters, Kimberly Jeff Shows, Kayla Jason Romine, Dayna Neal Lampe, Amy Frank Petrzelka, Brent Sandra Wilke, Jeremy Wilke, Lauren Colt Gillum, Lyssa Wilke, Amber Ryan Lampe, Joshua Leianne Guelker, Colton Guelker and Jessica Fite, and Kelsey Guelker and Taylor Rybarski; great-grandchildren: Cameron and Caleb Peters, Kacey Derrick Smith, Kelly Shows, Ashleigh and Amanda Romine, Laen, Ryder and Remmy Lampe, Rinn Makowsky, Mackenzie and Michaela Wilke, Troy, Trista and Triton Gillum, Dylan Phillips, Holden Knuppel, Trenton Lampe, and Declan Guelker; great-great grandchildren: Kyleigh Peters and Jaxson Smith; sister, Celeste Dippel, sister-in-law Delores Kieke and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law Arnold Peters, Jr.; great-granddaughter, Peyton Guelker; a sister, brother, sister-in-law and three brothers-in-law. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, March 30, 2015 at St. John''s United Church of Christ, with Pastor Glen Schoeneberg and Brother D. Allen Cearley officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Burton. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Serving as pallbearers are Kevin Peters, Brent Wilke, Jeremy Wilke, Joshua Guelker, Colton Guelker and Freddie Dippel, Jr. Memorials may be directed to St. John''s United Church of Christ in Burton, or to Tuberous Sclerosis Complex or Down Syndrome charities. The family would like to thank the staff of AMA, Dr. William Loesch, and all the special caregivers who took such good care of our mama and grandma.
