Albert Addicks, Jr.

December 4, 1936 — September 27, 2018

Albert Addicks, Jr., husband of Effie Marie Nobles Addicks, passed away September 27, 2018 in Brenham.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Salem Lutheran Church with Pastor Charles Parnell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends and relatives Saturday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Albert Addicks, Jr. was born December 4, 1936 in the Sandy Hill Community of Washington County to Albert Sr. and Ella Wellbrock Addicks. Baptized February 14, 1937 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill, he was confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church on March 18, 1951. On June 15, 1963, he married Effie Nobles at Salem Lutheran Church.

Albert was retired from Blue Bell Creameries after working there 40 years.

Survivors include his wife, Effie Marie Addicks of Brenham; daughters and sons-in-law Rachelle and Eric Wendt of College Station, and Tara and Wade Wellmann of Brenham; sister-in-law Dovie Mae Addicks; brother and sister-in-law Lonnie and Dorothy Addicks, and brother, Floyd Addicks, all of Brenham; grandchildren: Brandon Bowman, Brittney (Aaron) Oquinn; Raleigh Wellmann and fiancé Dustin , Neeleigh Wellmann, and Kenleigh Wellmann; great-grandchildren: Claire Bowman, Allie Oquinn and Grace Oquinn; step-great-granddaughter, Alys McLaughlin; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Pearl and Henry Joe Roese; brothers-in-law Joe Nobles and Ernest Moreland; Thomas Nobles (Lois); Shorty Nobles (Gerri); and brothers-in-law Ernest Moreland.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Sr. and Ella Addicks; brother, Ervin Addicks; sister-in-law Suzanne Addicks; father-in-law and mother-in-law Eugene and Alma Nobles.

Serving as pallbearers are Ricky Wellbrock, Donald Wendler, Henry Joe Roese, Randy Steinfeld, Lionel Newsome, and Clarence Mathis.

Memorials may be directed to Salem Lutheran Church or to an Alzheimer’s charity.
