Albert Duch, Jr., husband of Ruth Christine Duch, passed away December 1, 2015 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 4, 2015 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill, with Pastor Kris Brower officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Albert Duch, Jr. was born July 6, 1929 in Independence to Albert Sr. and Rosa Muehlberger Duch. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill. He later became a member of Salem Lutheran Church of Salem. He rejoined St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill, remaining a member there until his death. On August 13, 1950, Albert was married to Ruth Christine Hold at Salem Lutheran Church of Salem. He enjoyed singing and playing musical instruments, including the guitar, banjo, and the French harp. Gardening and tending to his cows were favorite pastimes. He entertained his family with his jokes and stories. Mr. Duch delivered milk for Carnation Milk Co. for 27 years, and was later employed by Washington Co. Road and Bridge, retiring in 1993. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Christine Duch of Brenham; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Sandra Duch; daughters and sons-in-law Susan and Mike Busby, Peggy and Hank Ward, and Barbara and Robbie Casey, all of Brenham; grandchildren: Jennifer Smith and husband Dewayne, Mary Busby and friend Lee Huntsman, Joshua Busby, Clint Duch and wife Cendy, Kelli Collier and husband Clayton, Jonathan and Billy Ward, Kody and Katy Kliebert, and Shelbi Casey; great-grandchildren: Kade Smith, Sadie and Mary J Schaub, Aerynn Huntsman, Nolan, Lilly, and Emmy Collier, Jack Duch, Lorenzo Marino, and Halli Casey; sisters-in-law Dorothy Hupe, Elizabeth Hold, and Lorene Hold. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant twin sister, infant grandson, Brian Busby, and brothers Henry Duch and Reinhard Duch. Mr. Duch''s grandsons will serve as pallbearers. His other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, all special friends, and his close friend and cousin, Roger Brinkmeyer, will serve as honorary pallbearers.
