Albert Fred Moehlmann, 80, of Kerrville, Texas died January 17, 2025, in a San Antonio hospital with family and friends by his side.
Albert was born in Brenham, Texas on September 28,1944 to Charles Frederick Albert Moehlmann and Lydia Wieghat Moehlmann. He was a graduate of Brenham High School and was active in FFA. After graduation, he attended Blinn College, then went on to complete his education at Sam Houston State University receiving his BBA degree. He also served in the Army National Guard, Airborne Division.
Albert met Martha (Marti) Forney on a blind date and they were united in marriage 6 months later on September 12, 1976 in Houston. They were married for 48 years and were deeply devoted to each other. He worked in the sales and marketing industry until he retired from the Austin American Statesman. Albert was an unpretentious man who was liked by all who met him.
After retirement, Albert and Marti moved to their dream home in Kerrville where they shared their love of nature and wildlife.
Albert is survived by his wife, Martha Forney Moehlmann; nephews, James Mueller and wife, Donna, Glenn Mueller and wife, Connie; Kim Mueller and wife, Debbie; Also surviving are great-nieces, Lisa Galbreath Cooper; Laury Galbreath Revia; Amanda Mueller Roberts and great-nephews, Craig Mueller; Kevin Mueller and Bradley Mueller. Also surviving are his brother-in-law, Mark Forney and wife, Penny; sister-in-law, Lynn Forney Young and husband, Steve; niece Lindsey Witte and husband, Brett; nephews Walker Young and wife Meghan, Travis Forney and wife Michelle, along with numerous great-great-nieces and nephews and special life-long friends, Ed Hueske and Atwood Kenjura.
He was preceded by his parents; sisters, and brothers-in-law, Darcille & Kirby Mueller, Rosalie & Arthur Mueller; nieces, Kathy Mueller Galbreath, Karen Mueller Brown; and Marti’s parents, Patricia and Byron Forney.
Pallbearers include Glen Mueller, James Mueller, Kim Mueller, Craig Mueller, Kevin Mueller and Bradley Mueller.
The funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Church in Prairie Hill, with Pastor Norm Sulaica officiating. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 p.m. until the service time. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be given to Wounded Warrior Project, St. John’s Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill, or the charity of your choice.
