Albert Charles Thielemann, 83, died Dec. 2, 2018 at his residence in Cat Spring.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Abiding Word Lutheran Church, with Pastor Martin Moore officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter Lutheran Church Cemetery of Gay Hill.
Visitation will be prior to the service, beginning at 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, at Abiding Word Lutheran Church.
Albert Charles Thielemann was born March 24, 1935 in Washington County to Albert Louis and Edna Flora Hueske Thielemann. He was baptized into the Christian faith on April 24, 1935. On March 12, 1955, he married Margaret Ann McAlpine. He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War from 1954 until 1958. Mr. Thielemann was a retired Project Engineer for Dow Chemical Co.
Woodworking was a favorite hobby, and Charles made clocks, cedar benches, tables and other items of furniture. He enjoyed playing pitch, Texas Hold-Em, watching football, and investing in the stock market.
A charter member of Abiding Word Lutheran Church, he remained a faithful member there until his death.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Thielemann of Cat Spring; daughters Carrie Thielemann (Dennis Ray) of Austin; Jeannie Cooper (Doug); Sally Piper, all of Houston, and Nancy Bagley of Phoenix; son Matthew Thielemann (Jill) of Cat Spring; sister Ruth Linnsteadter Thompson; grandchildren: Tristan Thielemann, Margaret (Katie) Cooper, Andy Cooper, Nathanial Piper, Bryce Bagley, Bridgette Bagley, Jake Tatman, Lauren Thielemann, Mallory Tatman, Luke Thielemann, and Cade Thielemann. Also surviving is one great-grandchild, Sophia Piper.
Other surviving relatives are six double cousins: James Hueske, Floyd Hueske, Maurice Woods, Joyce Lewis, Walline Wood, and Edward Hueske. Other surviving cousins are Wayne Hueske, Roger Hueske, Pat Stelter, Carol Gubbles, and Tommy Jaster.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Edna Thielemann; cousins Leroy Thielemann, Eugene Thielemann, Jackie Hueske, and Billy Jaster.
Serving as pallbearers are Nathanial Piper, Tristan Thielemann, Andy Cooper, Jake Tatman, Luke Thielemann, and Cade Thielemann.
Honorary pallbearers are Herbert Kollatschny, Bernis Self, Butch Rabius, James Herring, Earl McIntyre, Nello Strickland, Pat Elliot, and Bryce Bagley.
Memorials may be directed to Abiding Word Lutheran Church or Hospice Brazos Valley.
