Alex Albert Meschewitz, 90, of Brenham, died May 31, 2015 at High Hope Care Center. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Deacon Al Prescott will officiate. A visitation is scheduled from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Alex Meschewitz was born February 5, 1925 in Greenvine to Mike and Emma Wessinger Meschewitz. He was baptized at St. Mary''s Catholic Church. On Nov. 15, 1958, he was married to Evelyn Kazmir. Mr. Meschewitz was employed by Brentex Millls as a weaver. He loved to garden and crafted many items for his family out of wood. He remained a member of St. Mary''s Catholic Church until his death. Survivors include his sister, Mary Meschwitz of Brenham; nephews Glen Meschewitz and wife Gayle of Brenham; Jim Meschwitz and wife Cindy of Austin; Gene Meschwitz of Brenham, and niece Sylvia Jurica and husband George of Brenham. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn; parents Mike and Emma Meschewitz; brother and sister-in-law Edward and Annie Meschewitz; brother Andrew Gabby Meschewitz, and brother-in-law George Meschwitz. Pallbearers will be Glen Meschewitz, George Jurica, and David Wessinger. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Meschwitz, Gene Meschwitz, his long-time friend, Mike Stegent, and Roger Brinkmeyer. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Brazos Valley of Brenham. Funeral arrangements for Alex Albert Meschewitz are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
