Alex Schulz

Alex Fred Fritz Schulz, of Brenham, husband of Ann E. Schulz, died October 9, 2010 in Brenham. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in St. John s United Church of Christ in Burton, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Pastor Glen Schoeneberg will officiate. The family will receive friends and relatives Monday evening from 5:00 until 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Alex was born April 3, 1951 in Burton to Wilfred Alex and Hilda Mae Mertz Schulz. He was educated in Burton area schools and married Ann Ray on April 3, 1983. A retired truck driver, he was a member of St. John s United Church of Christ as well as the NRA. Survivors include his wife, Ann Schulz of Brenham; stepson Christopher Alley and wife Carrie; stepdaughter Glenda Weyand and husband Gary, all of Brenham; step-grandchildren Justin Weyand, Nicole Weyand, and Chryston Alley; sister Dorothy Welch of Houston, and a nephew, John Welch. Preceding him in death was his father, Wilfred Schulz and a brother-in-law Don Welch. Serving as pallbearers are John Welch, Chris Alley, Justin Weyand, Gary Weyand, Claude Naegeli, and Terry Schulz. Memorials may be directed to the MD Anderson Cancer Center or to St. John s United Church of Christ. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main, Brenham. 979 836-4564.
