Alfred Herman Dallmeyer, 70, of Marlin, TX, died on November 23, 2021.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Frieden United Church of Gay Hill prior to the funeral service.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Frieden United Church of Gay Hill with Anthony Cargill officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Mr. Dallmeyer was born on November 27, 1950 in Brenham, TX to Herman and Hattie Hermann Dallmeyer. He was baptized at Friedens Evangelic Church of Gay Hill and was confirmed on April 3, 1966 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn.
Alfred was raised on his grandfather’s farm in Washington County where he worked hard farming and ranching. As a young man he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved fast cars and spent his weekends racing with friends. In 1968 he was drafted into the Army and was sent to Vietnam to serve with Company B 14th Engineering. He was honorably discharged in 1971. Upon his return home he was employed by Brentex Mills, Steadly Co., Texas Fibers and Sohio Oil where he was respected for his work ethic. He spent the remaining twenty years of his life as a resident of a home for veterans in Marlin, TX, and was well-liked by the staff and community. He posed a deep love for his Lord and had a passion for reading and reciting scripture. Alfred had a love for his family and humble beginnings. We will hold him in our hearts forever, until we are all together again.
Alfred is survived by his son, Michael Dallmeyer; sisters, Esther Rosenbaum of The Woodlands, TX, and Hattie Lampe of Brenham, TX; sister and brother-in-law, Martha Stowe and husband Billy of North Zulch, TX; brother, David Dallmeyer of Brenham, TX, and sister-in-law, Laurie Dallmeyer of Brenham, TX; and aunt, Annie Malkey.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Hattie Dallmeyer; two brothers, Daniel Dallmeyer and Troy Dallmeyer; one infant brother and one infant sister; grandparents, Louis and Matilda Hermann; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Keanu, KJ Reed, Kevin Lampe, Devyn Hood, Phillip Vordenbaum, Joe Perez, and David Hermann.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main Street, Brenham, TX 77833.
