Alfred H. Kelm, 79, died January 24, 2019 at his residence in Shelby.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
Alfred H. Kelm was born May 21, 1939 in Brenham to Herbert Gottlieb and Martha Schumacher Kelm. He was baptized into the Lutheran faith on July 2, 1939, and confirmed March 29, 1953. On February 16, 1963, he married Janice Schlabach.
Alfred served in the Texas National Guard. He was owner of Brazos Valley Trucking.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Kelm of Shelby; son and daughter-in-law Donald and Kathy Kelm of Hico; daughter Deynene Kelm Roberts, and Veryl Neumann of Round Top; grandchildren: Braden Kelm, Garrison Roberts and wife Amanda, Dalton Roberts, and Hayden Roberts; great-grandchildren: Cash Roberts, Clara Roberts, Cullen Roberts, and Sofia Gaiarin.
The family remembers special friend Megan Bender, and close friends Herbert Faske, James Miller, Charlie Lange, Perry Lee Thomas and Billy Pieper.
Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Martha Kelm, and parents-in-law, Coivin and Ora Lee Schlabach.
Memorials may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church of Shelby, or to the Shelby Volunteer Fire Department.
