Alice Gandy

Alice Elizabeth Gandy went to be with the Lord on September 20, 2014 at the age of 74 while residing in the town of Seagoville, TX. Alice was born in Brenham, Texas on August 11, 1940, to Albert and Maud Green. Her siblings included Margaret Coleman, Albert Green, and Shirley Marmor. She and her husband Archie F. Gandy were active members of Bethel Baptist Church where Alice taught Sunday School often. She was survived by her husband, Archie F. Gandy and his children and grandchildren; her children, Claudia Reese, Tyrone Nunn and his wife Betty Nunn, and Jennifer Charlton and her partner Sarah Popejoy; her grandchildren, Jenna Reese, Timothy Reese, Jr., Amanda Witherspoon, Stuart Reese, Brenda Trejo, Thomas Nunn, and Celeste Nunn; her great-grandchildren, Anthony Oviedo and Joslynn Reese; her sister, Shirley Marmor, and Albert Green; and her good friends, Brother Benny Craft and Sister Cathy Craft. She was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Coleman. Alice was a devoted wife and mother and a wonderful cook and caretaker. Alice always gave to everyone around her, and she had a special gift for making everyone feel welcome and like family. She loved collecting angels and helping out stray animals. Alice was well respected in her community of Seagoville, and everyone thought so much of her. She worked for the Sheriff''s Department in Dallas County for about twelve years. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. The service will be officiated by Brother Benny Craft. Visitation will be held Tuesday night, September 23, 2014 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W.
