Alice Schroeder

Alice Louise Schroeder, 92, of Brenham, the widow of Johnnie T. Schroeder, died February 5, 2013 in Brenham Nursing and Rehab Center in Brenham. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 8 at Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville with Pastor Pat Lehrer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 7 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Mrs. Schroeder was born July 7, 1920, in Brenham, Texas, to Christian and Mathilde Kramer Koehn. She was baptized December 19, 1920 at Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville and was confirmed April 5, 1936 in the same church. She attended Harrisburg School. On June 14, 1941, she was married to Johnnie T. Schroeder at Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville. Mrs. Schroeder worked for Duke & Ayres, J.C. Penney and a five and dime store in North Carolina. For 30 years, Mrs. Schroeder operated Schroeder''s Store, where the Knickerbocker baseball team met on weekends and played games behind the store. Mrs. Schroeder was very dedicated to her family and took care of her parents in their later years. She was a life-long member of Zion Lutheran Church. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Johnnie Wayne and Marilyn Schroeder of Brenham; daughter and son-in-law, Peggy Ann and William Miller of Brenham; grandchildren, Troy and Kathleen Schroeder, Shawn and Catherine Schroeder, Warren Miller and Christian Miller; great-grandchildren, Alec Schroeder, Noah Schroeder and John Easton Schroeder; and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Brinkmeyer and Viola Koehn. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Johnnie T. Schroeder; and brothers, Lonnie Koehn and Fritzie Koehn. Pallbearers will be Mike Bass, Michael Brinkmeyer, James Stolz, Ricky Gaskamp, Dean Winkelmann, and Ronnie Kelm. Memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville.
