Aline Knebel, 85, widow of Elton Knebel, died October 17, 2012 in Kruse Memorial Lutheran Village. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, October 19, 2012 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine, with burial to follow in La Bahia Cemetery. Pastor David Tinker will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Aline Knebel was born December 25, 1926 in the Prairie Hill Community to Fritz and Lydia Krause Naumann. Baptized in Sandy Hill, she attended area schools, and was married to Elton Knebel on June 12, 1955 at St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill by Rev. Louis Kramer. Aline was employed as a custodian for Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine, where she was a member for many years. Aline worked for over 20 years for C.C.A., lovingly taking care of the elderly. A great cook, she provided a loving home for her family, and treasured time spent with her children and grandchildren. Taking care of her flowers and enjoying the birds were favorite pastimes. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law Don and Sandy Knebel of Garland, Willie Knebel of Joplin, MO., Gary and Rosemary Knebel, Kevin and Mandy Knebel, Brian and Pam Knebel, all of Brenham, and Jeffrey and Melissa Knebel of Liberty Hill. grandchildren: Stephanie and Mark Sandborn, Stephen Knebel, Tiffany and Michael Grinnell, Adrianne and Brandon Vincik, Brittni Knebel and fiancé Michael Branton, Dillon Knebel, Delaney Knebel, Brandon Knebel, Jayda and Chris Broussard, Falyn Knebel, Reece Knebel, Corey Knebel, and Gatlin Knebel; great-grandchildren: Samuel, Alana, Cooper, and Ava Sandborn, and Hannah and Micah Grinnell; sisters Elvera Drews, Doris Klatt, and sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Edwin Weiss, Jr., and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ora Nell and William Kuretsch of Brenham. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elton Knebel; parents Fritz and Lydia Naumann; brothers Glenn, Ervin, Fritz and Lonnie Naumann; brother-in-law Wilbert Knebel, and daughter-in-law, Jeannelle Knebel. Serving as pallbearers are Stephen Knebel, Brandon Knebel, Corey Knebel, Dillon Knebel, Gatlin Knebel, Brandon Vincik, Ricky Weiss, Jody Naumann, Kevin Ullrich, and Paul Hightower. Honorary pallbearers are Reece Knebel, Mark Sandborn, Michael Grinnell, Chris Broussard, Michael Branton, Edwin Bonnie Weiss, Michael Peters, and William Red Kuretsch. Memorials may be directed to Martin Luther Lutheran Church of Carmine or to Hospice Brazos Valley. Funeral arrangements for Aline Knebel are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
