Allen Nelson Colvin, 99, of Brenham, passed away January 22, 2015 at his residence. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with Mark Gentry, Evangelist as officiant. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Allen Colvin was born January 21, 1916 in Stroud, OK. to George Washington and Nellie Mae Mills Colvin. After completing his education, he served in the U. S. Army with the 36th Infantry Division for the duration of World War II. In 1946, he was married to Margaret Hopkins, and they enjoyed 68 years of marriage. Margaret Colvin preceded him in death in November, 2014. Mr. Colvin was a member of Hwy. 290 Church of Christ until his death. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law Kenneth and Patricia Colvin of Katy, and Howard and Karen Colvin of Ohio; daughter and son-in-law Joan and Gary Driver of Katy; grandchildren: Craig, Rosemary, and Georgia Colvin, Michael and Anne, Chad and Margaret, Allen and Jacob Colvin, Jack Driver, Zachary and Michelle Driver; great-grandchildren: Eleanor and Adelaide Colvin, Isaac, James, Asher, and Virginia Hamilton, and soon to join the family, Evelyn in April, and Emily in March; brother Wallace Colvin of California, and sister Frances Scott of Brenham. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, his parents, four brother and four sisters. Serving as pallbearers are Michael Colvin, Chad Colvin, Allen Colvin, Jacob Colvin, Zachary Driver, and Douglas Webb. Memorials may be directed to Brenham Honor Guard, P. O.
