Alma Gaskamp, 89, of Washington, TX, died Feb. 5, 2004, in Trinity Medical Center in Brenham. Mrs. Gaskamp was born Oct. 14, 1914, in the William Penn community of Washington County, TX, to Ernest and Henrietta Loesch Hinze. She was baptized in Bethlehem Lutheran Church in William Penn by Pastor Iverson and was confirmed in the same church by Pastor C.J. Appel. She attended William Penn schools. On Jan. 12, 1947, she was married to Henry Gaskamp in Bethlehem Lutheran Church in William Penn by Pastor Appel. Mrs. Gaskamp was a life member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in William Penn and was a homemaker. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Delwin and Doris Gaskamp of Brenham; daughter, Karen Gaskamp of Brenham; 10 grandchildren, Diedra and James Wallace, Sharon Haferkamp, Cindy and Bradley Schomburg, Steven and Leigh Ann Haferkamp, Scott Haferkamp, Lori and Chad Schramme, Sherry and Charles Barrett, Shelly Haferkamp, Shelia Haferkamp and Stanley Haferkamp; 3 great-grandchildren, Kayla Wallace, Braylee Schomburg and Kayce Wallace; brother, Oscar Hinze of Brenham; sisters and brother-in-law, Adela Schroeder of Brenham and Doris and Alfred Becker of Navasota; and sisters-in-law, Ella Mae Hinze of Brenham and Walline Hinze of Brenham; sisters-in-law, Thekla Lueckemeyer, Annie Gaskamp, and Florence Gaskamp; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Meta & Herbert Mutscher, Alfred & Nelda Gaskamp, Raymond & Dorothy Ann Gaskamp, Melvin & Pearl Gaskamp, Clarence & Bernice Gaskamp, and Monroe & Lillian Gaskamp. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Edwin Hinze, Ernest Hinze Jr., and Ervin Hinze; sister & brother-in-law, Laura & Arnold Holtkamp; brother-in-law, Harven Schroeder, and sister-in-law, Lois Hinze; sister-in-law, Louise Gaskamp; sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Herbert & Hattie Gaskamp; brothers-in-law, Edwin Lueckemeyer, Walter Gaskamp, and Otto Gaskamp, Jr. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7 in Bethlehem Lutheran Church in William Penn with Pastor Eldor J. Harmann officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6 in Memorial Oaks Chapel. Pallbearers will be James Wallace, Bradley Schomburg, Chad Schramme, Steven Haferkamp, Scott Haferkamp, Stanley Haferkamp and Valgene Kohring. Lance Searle will be considered an honorary pallbearer. Memorials may be given to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in William Penn. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham..
