Alvin Draehn

Alvin James Jimmy Draehn, 64, of Brenham, died Dec. 27, 2005, in St. Luke s Hospital in Houston. Mr. Draehn was born October 17, 1941, in Brenham, to Willie and Selma Emshoff Draehn. He was baptized Dec. 21, 1941, in Salem Lutheran Church of Salem and was confirmed March 29, 1956 in the same church by Pastor O.K. Oelke. Mr. Draehn was a 1960 graduate of Brenham High School and served in the Army Reserve. Mr. Draehn was a member of Salem Lutheran Church of Salem, BPOE #979 and Sons of Hermann. He was the owner of Draehn Electric. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, James and Gina Draehn of College Station; daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Ricky Kasprowicz of Brenham; six grandchildren, Tyson Wieghat, Megan and Rachel Draehn, Emily Draehn and Kristian and Kody Kasprowicz; brothers and sisters-in-law, Willie and Marjorie Draehn of Brenham, Roger and Joyce Draehn of Brenham, Glenn Draehn of Austin, Elwood and Deloris Draehn of Brenham, Lee and Hannelore Draehn of Cypress, Luther and Evelyn Draehn of Coupland; Gene and JoAnn Draehn of Brenham and Allan and Peggy Draehn of Brenham; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Lillie Mae and Willie Schmidt of Brenham, Dianne and Ted Sager of Ledbetter and Geraldine and Edward Rybarski of Brenham. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Draehn. The family will receive visitors from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30 in Salem Lutheran Church of Salem with Pastor Charles Parnell officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Draehn, David Draehn, Craig Sager, Royce Draehn, Scotty Rybarski, Darrell Schmidt, Troy Draehn and George Dillingham. Memorials may be made to Salem Lutheran Church of Salem. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
