Alvin Krenek

November 3, 1940 — August 26, 2011

Alvin John Krenek, 70, of Brenham, husband of Joyce Mueller Krenek, departed his earthly home and went to join the Lord on August 26, 2011, after suffering a cranial hemorrhage Tuesday, August 23, 2011. The family will receive friends and relatives Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with a Rosary to be held from 7:30 to 8 p.m. Alvin was born in Brenham on November 3, 1940 to John and Annie Shupak Krenek. He was baptized and received his First Holy Communion and Confirmation in the Catholic Faith. A faithful member of St. Mary½s Catholic Church, Alvin was a graduate of Snook High School, and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. On October 27, 1962, Alvin married the love of his life, Joyce Mueller. For the next 49 years of their life together, they remained best friends, as well as parents and business partners. Alvin and Joyce had three children: Aaron, Julie and Alan. Since 1972, Alvin was the owner and operator of Krenek½s Tractor Repair and Wrecker Service. His business was his driving force and he truly loved to wake up each day and do his job. Alvin regarded his employees as his family, and counted his customers as true friends. Alvin was rarely seen without his faithful canine companion, Appollo. You never saw one without the other. His passions were tractors, wreckers, cattle, gardening and spending time at his cherished farm in Snook. Alvin loved all that encompassed the farming and agricultural world. He lived to sell, repair, and ½talk½ tractors. Alvin Krenek was a loving husband, a doting and patient father and grandfather, and a constant friend to anyone he met. He had a huge compassionate heart, a quick wit, and a humorous story for anyone he came across. Alvin was a strong man with a gentle soul. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends, but his strong spirit will live on. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Krenek; sons Aaron Krenek and wife Carrie; Alan Krenek; daughter Julie Krenek Shows and special friend, Steven Gerik; grandchildren: Bailey Krenek, Taylor Krenek, Ethan Shows, Shaye Shows, and Jetta Shows; his mother-in-law, Ora Nell Mueller, and sisters Josephine Pruett, and Bettie Martine and husband Garland.
