Alvine Rosenbaum

Alvine Emma Knipstein Rosenbaum, 97, the widower of Lonnie Robert Rosenbaum, died on October 31, 2009 at her residence in Burton. Alvine was born on August 15, 1912 to Fritz Knipstein and Anna Stelter Knipstein. She was baptized on November 17, 1912 at St. John''s United Church of Christ in Burton by Reverend H. Schultz and confirmed on March 28, 1926 at St. John''s United Church of Christ in Burton by Reverend Adolph Walton. Alvine was married on September 26, 1940 to Lonnie Robert Rosenbaum at St. John''s United Church of Christ in Burton. Alvine was a member of St. Paul''s Lutheran Church of Rehburg. She was the most loving, caring, and wonderful person for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that thought the world of her. She loved the country and being in her garden. She enjoyed canning and preserving fruits and vegetables from her garden. She also enjoyed sewing for her family. She taught us not to be wasteful, whether it was an ear of corn or a piece of leftover material, she always found a use for it. She was always teaching her family the values she knew. She was strong-willed and an amazing wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Travis and Margie Rosenbaum of Burton, daughter and son-in-law Doris Ann and Wayne Seilheimer of Brenham, grandchildren Stephen Rosenbaum, Robin Dahlquist, Bart and Melissa Seilheimer, Kurt Seilheimer, great-grandchildren Blake Rosenbaum, Crystal Dahlquist, Tiffany Dahlquist, Brandie Dahlquist and Karli Seilheimer, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Earl and Janet Rosenbaum of Brenham, sisters-in-law Ruby Boyd of Call, Juanita Seilheimer of Brenham, Geneva Herrmann of Brenham, Virgine Rosenbaum of Brenham, Mary Randermann Franklin of Brenham and Ella Mae Love of Brenham, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Lonnie Rosenbaum on September 28, 2001, her parents, her granddaughter Rhonda Rosenbaum, brothers Otto and Willie Knipstein, sister Emma Knipstein, and seven brothers-in-law. Funeral services for Alvine Rosenbaum will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at St. Paul''s Lutheran Church of Rehburg with Pastor Steve Cox officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Foehner Funeral Home in Burton. She will lie in state at Memorial Oaks Chapel until 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, and at 11:00 a.m. she will lie in state at Foehner Funeral Home. Pallbearers are her nephews: Edward Boyd, Bobby Seilheimer, Raymond Rosenbaum, Glenn Earl Rosenbaum, Darryl Herrmann, Bruce Randermann, Lary Rosenbaum and Gary Rosenbaum.
