Amelia Sandate

Amelia Louise Sandate, 73, wife of Steve Sandate, passed away January 19, 2017 at her residence in Brenham.

Funeral services are scheduled for 7 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2017 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with Rev. Dr. Brent Hampton officiating.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Friday until service time at 7 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Burial will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2017 in Brookside Memorial Park in Houston.

Amelia Louise Sandate was born November 21, 1943 in Houston to Ignacio Gonzalez Vela and Eva Olivia Burnette Vela. She cared for her family as a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Steve Sandate of Brenham; daughters and sons-in-law Annette and Ernie Ware of Brenham; Lynette and Tracy Hammack of Bellville; Sylvia Bland of Spring, and Lisa Luedecke of Leander; sister, Eva Vela of Houston; grandchildren: Steve Hohlt, John Hohlt, Teresa Hammack, Ernest Ware, Bobby Ware, Christina Sandate, Jessica Ware, Loyd Bland, Jr., Austin Bland, Daniel Bland, Nicholas Bland, Copeland Luedecke and Trinity Luedecke; great-grandchildren: Alexander Bland, Alaina Hohlt, and Emma Lyn Hohlt.

Amelia was preceded in death by her parents, Eva and Ignacio Vela; sisters, Martha Fernandez, Betty Estrada, and a brother, Ignacio Vela, Jr.

Serving as pallbearers are Loyd Bland, Jr., Ernest Ware, Bobby Ware, Steve Hohlt, Austin Bland, Copeland Luedecke, and Daniel Bland. John Hohlt and Nicholas Bland will be an honorary pallbearer.
