Andrew D. Holley, Jr., 70, of Burton, died Dec. 6, 2003, in Trinity Medical Center in Brenham. Mr. Holley was born Aug. 24, 1933, in Texas City, TX, to Andrew Dewey Sr. and Hester Coats Holley. He was a graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School and Lee College of Baytown. He served in the U.S. Marines during Korean Conflict. Mr. Holley was the owner of Rocky Creek Store and was retired from Arco Chemical in Channelview. He was the founder of Houston and Harris County Fair and was a life member of Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Mr. Holley loved the Marine Corps and tinkering with mechanical things. He especially loved to visit with his customers. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Fritz Steenken of Burton; grandsons, Tyler and Tanner Steeken, both of Brenham; and brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Betty Holley of Atlanta, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Wanda Smith Holley, in 1977; and his brother, Richard Holley. The funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12 in St. John s United Church of Christ in Burton with Pastor Henry Holley and Pastor Glen Schoeneberg officiating. The graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12 at Whites Cemetery in Highlands. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11 in Foehner Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to St. John s United Church of Christ in Burton. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Foehner Funeral Home in Burton.
