Anita Schroeder Kohring, 90, of Brenham, the widow of Robert Kohring, died Friday, August 6, 2004, in Trinity Medical Center in Brenham. Born November 6, 1913, in the William Penn Community, Wasington County, Texas to Henrich and Meta Becker Schroeder, she was baptized December 21, 1913 by Rev. John Iversen, and confirmed March 24, 1919 by Rev. C. J. Appel. She was united in marriage to Robert Kohring on February 22, 1940 by Rev. C. J. Appel. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law; Jerry Lee and Doris Kohring of Brenham, Robert Wayne and Barbara Kohring of Brenham, Valgene and Diana Kohring of Washington, Danny Kohring and fiancé Shirley Nichols of Navasota, daughters and sons-in-law; Marilyn and Vernon Klussmann of Brenham, Sandra and Robert Searle of Washington, Kathryn and Joe Martinez of Brenham, Diane and Charles Boggan of Brenham, Rebecca and Ray Wellmann of Brenham, daughter-in-law Pat Kohring of Brenham, sister Oleta Mertins, sisters-in-law; Ida May Schroeder and Rosa Lee Lueckemeyer, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Elsie and Walter Mertins, aunt Amelia Schroeder, 28 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Kohring, her parents, son Bobbie Ray Kohring, daughter Ruth Kohring, daughter-in-law Connie Kohring, and brother Ira Lee Schroeder. The funeral service for Anita Kohring will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday in Bethlehem Lutheran Church in William Penn with pastor Matthew Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive visitors at Memorial Oaks Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Funeral arrangements for Anita Kohring are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main Street, in Brenham.
