Ann Smith, 85, of Burton, died Dec. 1, 2005, in Trinity Care Center in Brenham. Mrs. Smith was born Jan. 13, 1920, in Waco, Texas. She was also educated in Waco. On Jan. 8, 1940, she was married to A.W. Smith in Corpus Christi. Mrs. Smith enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing and traveling with A.W. in their motor home. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who called her Bebo. She will also be missed by her pets, Tammy, Shelby and Collette. Special thanks goes to Dr. Workman and the staff at Trinity Care Center for the wonderful care they gave Bebo. Survivors include her husband, A.W. Smith of Burton; son and daughter-in-law, Don and Dee-Dee Smith of Brenham; two grandchildren, Scotty and Vicki Smith of Brenham and Lisa and Daniel Krolczyk of Chappell Hill; three great-grandchildren, Brittney Smith of Denver, Colorado, Quinton Smith of Brenham and Gunnar Smith of Brenham; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, in Memorial Oaks Chapel with Pastors Glen Schoeneberg and Virgil Pecht officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. The family will receive visitors at Memorial Oaks Chapel from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2. Pallbearers will be Melvin Smith, Dr. Reggie Goodman, Ronald Smith, Dan Smith, Mark Hundemer and Don Abel. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Smith, Jim Nunn, Dr. Gregg Workman, George Hart and Albin Bolcerek. Memorials may be given to St. John''s United Church of Christ in Burton.
