Anna Kern

Anna Bette Kern, 91, widow of Hickman Kern, died August 21, 2010 in Gazebo Terrace Convalescent Center in Brenham. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 27, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with Rev. Steve Ponder officiating. Interment will take place in Forest Park, Lawndale in Houston. Anna Kern was born January 2, 1919 in Purcell, Oklahoma to Henry E. and Mary Grant Bennett. She grew up in Houston and was a 1937 graduate of Sam Houston High School, and in 1942, graduated from Mary Hardin Baylor. She was an office manager in the oil field service industry. Survivors include a brother, Grant Bennett of Brenham, a sister, Dorothy Sue Parker of Baytown, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Hickman Kern. The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Gazebo Terrace and the Brenham Hospice team for their care during Anna Bette''s final days.
