Mrs. Annie Mae Shelburne Hahn passed away on January 20, 2008 in Brenham, Texas. Annie Mae Shelburne was born on May 15, 1919 in Somerville, Texas to George Bell Shelburne and Miley Christenek Shelburne Eickenhorst. Annie Mae was raised in the Methodist faith, but after marriage she joined St. Paul’s Evangelical Church in Brenham. Annie Mae kept mindful the words of Christ in her Lutheran confirmation verse, Matthew 5:6: “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.” Annie Mae married Alvin Robert Hahn on March 25, 1939, and devoted herself to her family. She was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, where she maintained altar linens, organized after-funeral gatherings, and studied her faith in a Ladies’ Circle. Mrs. Hahn also gave many dedicated years of service to the Hospital Auxiliary at St. Jude and Trinity Hospitals in Brenham. For many years she helped her husband operate Hahn Motor Sales, and they enjoyed extensive vacations throughout the United States and Europe. Mrs. Hahn’s husband Alvin and her two children, Milanne Hahn and Alvin Wayne Hahn, will miss her presence greatly. She is also survived by her son’s wife Barbara Hahn; grandson Alvin Robert Hahn II and his wife Jennifer and children Sadie and Nathan; granddaughter Alicia Hahn Altman and her husband Wade and children Avery and Andrew; granddaughter Amy Hahn; sister Georgia Lee Krause; brother Ike Cole Shelburne and his wife Carolyn Sue; sister-in-law Alma Hahn; brother-in-law Bill Barry, husband of deceased sister Etta Belle; and nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hahn’s family is sincerely grateful to the administrators and nursing staffs of the Brenham Rest Home and Brazos Valley Hospice for their loving care and devoted attention to improving her quality of life. They are angels all. Mrs. Hahn’s pallbearers are: Alvin Robert Hahn II, Charles Ray Hahn, Jimmie Hahn, Jr., Charles Schulte, David Myrow, and Milroy Kessler. The family will receive visitors at Brenham Memorial Oaks Chapel on Tuesday, January 22, 5:30 to 7:30 pm. The funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s Evangelical Church, Brenham, Texas on Wednesday, January 23, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Lawrence Bade officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery.
