Annie Rodenbeck Korth, 96, widow of Edwin Korth, passed away December 8, 2010 at Kruse Memorial Lutheran Village. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday December 11, 2010 at Salem Lutheran Church. Pastor Charles Parnell will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Friday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Annie Rodenbeck Korth was born February 19, 1914 to Otto and Annie Jahnke Rodenbeck in the Pleasant Hill community near Brenham. She was baptized June 21, 1914 by the Rev. Johannes Mgebroff and confirmed on April 1, 1928 by the Rev. William Utesch in Salem Lutheran Church, Brenham. Annie attended public school at Pleasant Hill and Brenham High School. She married Edwin Korth on December 6, 1936 in Salem Lutheran Church, Brenham. Annie and Edwin made their home in the Pleasant Hill community for their entire married life, and she was a lifetime member of Salem Lutheran Church. Annie loved her garden and flowers. She loved when the family could get together and especially loved the visits from the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Annie and Edwin enjoyed their time together. They especially enjoyed tending to their cattle and horses. Later in life she became an avid Astros fan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin, on October 24, 2004. They had been married for 67 years. Annie was also preceded in death by a daughter, Gloria Jean Sommer on December 26, 1993; sisters and brothers-in-law: Lillie and Charlie Tesch and Elsie and Reinhold Poehlmann, Wm. S. Winkelmann, brother, Otto Rodenbeck, Jr., brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Henry and Helen Korth, Walter and Cora Korth, Minnie and Fred Rosentrater, Lillie and Otto Weidner, as well as Eleanor and Tom Cecil. Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Joy Ann and Raymond Dickschat of Washington; son-in-law, John A. Sommer of Boerne; sister, Norma Winkelmann of Brenham; grandchildren: Brian and Joyce Dickschat of Brenham, Rodney and Celeste Dickschat of Washington, Mark Dickschat of Washington, Dustin and Diana Dickschat of Irving, John Jr. and Marilyn Sommer of San Antonio, Richard and Kelleigh Sommer of Bulverde. Great-grandchildren: Tracy Dickschat, Trevor Dickschat, Joseph Dickschat, John Lane Dickschat, Lindy Sommer, Sam Sommer, and Tyler Dickschat. She is also survived by special friend, Maudie Bates. Serving as pallbearers are grandsons Brian Dickschat, Rodney Dickschat, Mark Dickschat, Dustin Dickschat, John Sommer, Jr. and Richard Sommer. Honorary pallbearers are Ralph Poehlmann, Norman Winkelmann, Fred Winkelmann, Will Henske, Walter Korth, Jr., Daniel Engeling, Elroy Wellmann, and great-grandchildren: Tracy Dickschat, Trevor Dickschat, Joseph Dickschat, John Lane Dickschat, Lindy Sommer, Sam Sommer, and Tyler Dickschat.
