Annie Meyer Polk on June 9, 2006, went to her heavenly home to join her husband, Clarke Polk, and her son, Clarke, Jr. Annie enjoyed gardening and sharing her gardens with everyone. Annie leaves this legacy with her daughter, Ann Hinton, and her granddaughter, Kay Hinton. Her special friends, Ida Mae Wilburn, Ollie and Walter McDonald, Larry Crawford; her special nurses, Candy Reed, Ruby Lee Hardman, and Nettie Ragston; her special Hospice nurse, Delta Merkel; and the many friends she has made through the years, will miss her friendship and her bright smile. Also surviving her are her two nieces, Rebecca McCracken of Kerrville and Karen Rogers of Houston, and her half brother, George Meyer of Sugar Land, as well as numerous other relatives. She was a member of St. Peter s Episcopal Church of Brenham, Bluebonnet Garden Club of Brenham, and the Fortnightly Club of Brenham, Arts Department. Visitation will be at Memorial Oaks Chapel from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2006. Honorary pallbearers are her devoted employees: Willie B. Lindsey, Jr., Charles Lindsey, Jr., Billy Ray McDonald, Kenneth Phillips, James E. Randle and Alfred E. Turner. A joyful celebration of her life and crossing over will be held at St. Peter s Episcopal Church on Saturday, June 17, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. After the celebration, join together with Ann and Kay for lunch at the Brenham Country Club, 4107 Highway 105.
