Annie Laurie Thaler, 84, of Brenham, wife of Raymond C. Thaler, Sr. died June 7, 2014 at Scott and White Hospital in Brenham. The funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at St. Paul''s Lutheran Church of Rehburg, with Pastor Denise Seymore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation with the family and friends will be on June 9, 2014 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Annie Laurie was born in Burton on December 1, 1929 to Bailleux and NathaliePonfick Rothermel. She was baptized June 15, 1930 at St. John''s Evangelical Church in Burton by Pastor Adolph Walton and confirmed in the same church on April 2, 1944 by Pastor Paul Kniker. She graduated from Burton High School in 1947. On January 1, 1950, she was united in marriage to Raymond C. Thaler in St. John''s Evangelical Church in Burton by Pastor E.H. Schwengel. She became a member of St. Paul''s Lutheran Church of Rehburg after her marriage to Raymond, where she enjoyed singing in the church choir for 50 years. Annie Laurie completed Cosmetology School in Austin and owned and operated Laurie''s Beauty Shop for 60 years. For over 35 years she was the Beautician for Memorial Oaks Chapel. She enjoyed singing, cooking, dancing, shopping and so very important to Annie Laurie was spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Survivors include: her husband, Raymond; son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Linda of Brenham; daughter, Annette Turner of Brenham and special friend Steve Barker of Georgetown; grandchildren, Matt Thaler and fiancé Patricia and son Vicente of Lake Worth; Lindsay and Blake Henry of Portland, TX.; Terry A. Turner, Jr. of Austin and Joni Stolle of Houston; great-grandchildren; Madalyn Claire Henry and Aaron Chestly Thaler; sister, Nathalie Rothermel Landua of Brenham; brother and sister-in-law, James D. and Dorothy Ann Rothermel of Brenham; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Rothermel of Brenham, Joan Rothermel of Brenham, Marjorie Ann Thaler of Houston; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Willie and Lillie Heine Thaler; brothers, Thomas H. Rothermel and William A. Rothermel; sister, Mary Louise Rothermel; brothers-in-law and sisters-in- law, Oliver and Eloise Whitener, Bill Thaler, Eugene Thaler, Lunette and Melvin Roehling. Serving as pallbearers are: Charles Landua, James Rothermel, Jr., Donald Rothermel, Bob Whitener, Thomas Whitener, Billy Thaler, Mike Thaler, Rick Thaler, Van Roehling, Edwin Campbell, and Michael Rothermel. Memorials may be given to St. Paul''s Lutheran Church of Rehburg. The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Robert Haydon, and the Staff of Scott & White Hospital, Texas Home Health, Washington County EMS, and to Erma Pruett, Alisa Watts, and Shay Hill, Annie Laurie''s special care givers. The family would also like to thank Clarence Gerke, Wayne Giese and the staff of Memorial Oaks Chapel for a very special friendship for the past 40 years.
