Antone Kubeczka, 76, of Brenham and the husband of Carolyn Peters Kubeczka, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2020.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2020, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brenham with burial to follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends and relatives on Friday, January 24, 2020, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
Antone was born on September 26, 1943 at home in Chappell Hill, TX to John T. and Katy (Mikalajewski) Kubeczka. He was baptized at St. Stanislaus in Chappell Hill, TX. He received his first communion and was confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Brenham where he remained a faithful member until his death. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School.
He met Carolyn Peters on a blind date, that was arranged by one of her sisters. After their first date, he said, he knew that she was the girl for him to marry. On November 4, 1961 they were married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Brenham. They were married for 58 years and were blessed with two daughters.
He enjoyed playing pitch and dominoes with family and friends. In his younger days, he enjoyed playing pool and fishing on the river. He loved to dance. He enjoyed polka, waltz and country music. He especially loved “Jolie Blonde” and “Matilda”.
He and his bride were an amazing couple to witness on the dance floor. But more than anything, Antone loved and treasured his family and spending time with them.
He was best known as “JaJa” to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were his pride and joy. He would light up whenever they came to visit.
His loving family includes: wife, Carolyn, daughters and son-in-laws, Tammy and Dwayne Brauner and Vicky and Michael Muegge. Grandchildren: Melissa (Muegge) Guttenberger and husband Kelly, Ryan Brauner, Brett Muegge and wife Rachel, and Rachel Brauner. Great grandchildren: Grant Guttenberger, Ella Guttenberger, Rhen Muegge and the 4th Great-Grandchild expected in May.
Other surviving relatives include: sister-in-law, Ruby Kubeczka, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws: William Peters, Delores Mikeska, Annie Mae Buerger, Floreen Schulze, Gladys Mondrofsky, Elois and Johnnie Eickenhorst as well as numerous nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father in-law, Albert and Annie Peters, brothers, Johnnie, Harry, Alois and Mike and wife Harriet Kubeczka, sisters, Agnes, Stella and husband Louis Kmiec, Sophie and husband Leon Levandowski, Sarah and husband Leonard Dismukes, Caroline and husband Buster Heise, brothers-in-laws and sister-in-laws Charlie and Edna Petzolt, David and Doris Siptak. brother-in-laws: Eldon Mikeska, Glenwood Buerger, Herbert Schulze and J.C. Mondrofsky.

Brett and Rachel Muegge, Rachel Brauner, Grant Guttenberger, Ella Guttenberger, Rhen Muegge, Gregory Kubeczka, Marty Kubeczka, Henry Kmiec, Robert Heise, Leonard Dismukes.

Funeral arrangements for Antone Kubeczka are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
