Arnold Knuppel, 92, of Brenham, TX, died on May 30, 2021 in Bryan, TX.
A visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Christ Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Groves officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery.
Mr. Knuppel was born on January 15, 1929 near Longpoint, TX to John and Mary Lehde Knuppel. He was baptized at home on January 17, 1929 and confirmed at Zionsville Lutheran Church on October 17, 1943. He married his wife, Magdalene Menn, on June 5, 1954 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Greenvine. He attended Long Point Rural School and Burton High School. After high school, he attended Southwest Texas State College and achieved a Bachelors Degree in 1950 and also attended the University of Houston and achieved his Masters Degree. He taught math in the Pasadena Independent School District and at San Jacinto College. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Knuppel was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, camping and woodworking.
Mr. Knuppel is survived by his wife, Magdalene Knuppel; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Ann Knuppel; daughter-in-law, Paula Hill; grandchildren, Alisha and Tim Hardwick, Mark Knuppel and fiancé Tabatha Blauen, Elizabeth Knuppel and significant other Andrew Maicke, Suzanne Knuppel and significant other Cody Stewart, and Jennifer Knuppel; great-grandchildren, Kylie Hardwick, Lilly Hardwick, William Hardwick; sister, Bernadine Blum; sister-in-law, Lenora Voelkel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Knuppel; son, Russell Knuppel; grandson, Gregory Knuppel; parents-in-law, Albert and Wera Menn; Brothers-in-law, Fred Blum and James Voelkel.
Memorials may be directed to Christ Lutheran Church and/or Brenham Teacher Retirement Scholarship.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main Street, Brenham, TX 77833.
