Arthur Earl "Bubba" Brau, 78, of Round Top, died on May 11, 2012. He was born on October 11, 1933 to Arthur Edwin & Geneva Siebel Brau in the Wesley community. He married Ruth Ullrich on November 29, 1953 in Martin Luther Lutheran Church at Carmine. Mr. Brau was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham. "Bubba" loved the Brenham Cubs and never missed a game unless he was in too much pain, at which point, he''d listen to the game on the internet. His favorite television shows were "Walker, Texas Ranger" and "In the Heat of the Night." His favorite actor was John Wayne. Arthur enjoyed dancing, was always in love with his beautiful wife, Ruth. His family was the most important part of his life. His children appreciated that their dad was a special man. He always had a smile on his face and never met a stranger. For the last four years, he lived in Round Top, next door to his daughter and son-in-law, Kami & Billy Krause. His grandson, Matthew Krause, lived with him until Matthew''s untimely death in 2011. They were always best buddies. "Bubba''s" grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him so much joy. He greatly missed his wfe, Ruth and grandson, Matthew. For a number of years, Arthur worked for Green Grain Company, as well as for Brenham Roofing and Washington County State Bank. Mr. Brau is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Kyle & Joyce Brau of Brenham; his daughters and sons-in-law: Kerri & Don Woltmann of Brenham and Kami & Billy Krause of Round Top; along with his adopted children, Lisa & Matt Moudry of Brenham. He is further survived by his grandchildren: Holli & Nick Reeves of Bryan and Kelly & Eric Santana of Naples, Florida and his great-grandchildren: Ethan, Addie and Emmett Reeves as well as E J and Michael Santana. Also surviving are his grandpuppies, Poochie, Mattie, King and John Henry, as well as his great-grand puppy, Buddy. Other members of his family include his sister-in-law, Virginia Maass of Brenham; his sisters and brother-in-law: Margie Truitt of Dallas and Flo & Dennis Masar of New Jersey, along with a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dean & Joyce Ullrich of Carmine as well as a number of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth; a grandson, Matthew Krause and a brother, Henry Brau. A visitation is scheduled for Monday, May 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. in Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 15 at 10 a.m. in Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham, with Pastor Matthew Jacob & Pastor William Holzer officiating. Burial will follow in the Carmine City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church. Serving as pallbearers are Jack Harzke, Harold "Cotton" Finke, Mike Leonard, Mike Brau, Billy Brau, Johnny Kalbas and Matt Moudry. The family will consider Kay Schwartz, Melissa Muegge Guttenberg, Dr. Thomas Ginn, Pastor Matthew Jacob, Lete Phillips, R. C. Becker and all Brenham Cub athletes as honorary pallbearers.
