Arthur Fuelberg

Arthur Fuelberg, 100, of Brenham, Texas died January 4, 2018 in Brenham.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 7, 2018 at St Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Brenham, Texas with Pastor Phil Fenton officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

He was born February 4, 1917 at Wiedeville, eldest son of Oscar and Bertha Burmeister Fuelberg. He was baptized in Wiedeville Church on April 22, 1917 by Rev. K. Mueller and confirmed in the same church on March 29, 1931 by Rev. William Seidel. He attended school at Wiedeville. He married Lydia Muehlbrad June 24, 1939 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham and was employed at Mickan Hardware for many years. He was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Arthur cared for his wife until her death December 19, 1997.

Survivors include his son and wife, Gene Arthur and Nancy Fuelberg of Burton, Grandson-in-law Burt Morris. Also surviving is Arthur’s special friend, Gertrude Hohlt of Brenham, one brother Oscar Jr. of Brenham, sisters Bertha Emshoff of Austin and Annie Marie Lovell of Bryan, and many nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lydia December 19, 1997, his parents, Granddaughter, Kristine Morris October 3, 2014, and brothers and sisters-in-law Reinhard and Mabel (Haarmeyer) Fuelberg, Edward and Carol (Moore) Fuelberg, Robert and Mary (Foster) Fuelberg, brother Otto and also by sisters and brothers-in-law Hilda and Herbert Wellmann, and Dora and Charles Steele and brothers-in-law Elmo Emshoff and Joel Lovell.

Visitation will be Saturday from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. in Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church or to your charity of choice.
