Arthur Greif, Jr.

Arthur G. Greif, Jr. 87, husband of Lois Bracher Greif, passed away August 17, 2014, in Brenham. Art Greif was born December 31, 1926, in Charlotte, Texas to Arthur G. Greif, Sr. and Pauline Antonio Brinkoeter Greif. Art completed his first degree at the University of Texas, his Master''s degree at Northeastern University, and his Mechanical Engineering degree at the University of Colorado. He served 3l years in the U.S. Air Force, spanning World War II, the Korean War and the Viet Nam era. He was married to Lois Bracher on November 2, 1957 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Houston, Texas After serving 31 years in the military, he taught math, chemistry and physics in Sealy, Texas for two years and 13 years at Brenham High School teaching algebra. He enjoyed traveling, playing bridge and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Lois Greif of Brenham, sons and daughters-in-law Jeffrey Paul and Kamala Greif of Pflugerville and Andrew Arthur and Lisa Greif of League City; grandchildren: Eric Edward Greif, Andrew Thomas Greif, Benjamin Paul Greif and Alexandra Olivia Greif; brothers Allan Greif of Claremont, California, Jerry and Mavis Greif of Friendswood, brother-in-law Larry Maurer of San Diego, California and sister-in-law, Agnes B. Barrett of Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Linda Maurer and sister-in-law, Perle Greif. To honor Arthur''s wishes, there will be no public Memorial Service. A private family remembrance will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to any favorite charity. Final arrangements for Arthur G.
