Arthur Marburger, 86, of Navasota, husband of Adele Agnes Kocian Marburger, passed away March 16, 2011 in Grimes St. Joseph Hospital in Navasota. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Minister Anthony Applegate will officiate. Interment will follow in Carmine Cemetery. Mr. Marburger was born November 9, 1924 in Willow Springs to Edward and Mary Bartram Marburger. On Sept. 3, 1948, he married Adele Kocian in Columbus, Texas. He was employed as a "dynamite man" in the oil fields of South America, and later worked for J. M. Huber Corporation as a shipping clerk in the oilfield equipment industry, from which he retired in 1986. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Adele Marburger of Navasota; son, Royce Marburger of Chappell Hill; daughters and sons-in-law, Natalie and Walter Daugherity of College Station, Barbara and Kenneth Wayne Huebner of Bellville, and Sheila Marburger of Navasota; brother, Eugene Marburger of Bellville; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Marburger of Weimar; grandchildren: Travis Lee Huebner, Andrew Walter Daugherity, and Joshua Jonathan Huebner; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Earl Marburger; sisters, Agnes Marburger and Alice Noske; brother, Milton Marburger; and sisters-in-law, Alice Ann Marburger and Maxine Marburger.
