Arthur "Jim" Meinecke, 81, died on December 26, 2014 in Brenham, Texas. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Monday, December 29, 2014 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Jim was born on November 20, 1933, in Lee County to Arthur and Adeline "Mary" Baack Meinecke. At the age of 3 years old Jim''s family moved to Washington County, living on his grandpa''s farm. He was baptized in Lutheran faith in Lee County, confirmed in Burton, Texas and attended school in Burton. Jim moved to Houston in 1950, working for Blum System Tree Expert, Suburban Homes, Cameron Iron Works, Red Ball Motor Freight and Safeway/Appletree, driving 18-wheelers. In September of 1951, Jim met Bobbie Marie Deirking at the White Horse Café in Burton. Bobbie moved to Houston with Jim in January of 1952 and they married on January 23, 1954 at Weiderville Lutheran Church. Through this time Bobbie and Jim retained residences in both Houston and Brenham, and moved permanently back to Brenham in 1993. Jim and Bobbie have attended the Cowboy Church of Brenham since its formation. The family is very thankful to the Cowboy Church and its members for its prayers and continued support. Jim is survived by his wife Bobbie Meinecke; daughter Cherry Lynn Wright; grandchildren Rhonda and Bo Davenport, Russell and Melissa Wright, and Rachel and Randy Heallen; great-grandchildren Harrison Wright, Ellis Wright, and Jonah Heallen; sisters Joyce Gascamp and Betty Cleburne; brother Charles Meinecke; sister-in-law Doris Meinecke; brother in-law Charles Deirking and wife Janelle. Along with a number of nieces, nephews, close friends Neil and Cheryl Kulhanek, and his beloved dog Bruewski. Jim is preceded in death by in parents Arthur and Mary Baack Meinecke; mother and father-in-law Robert and Mary Deirking; brother Kenneth Meinecke; sister Doris Feisler; brother-in-laws Jake Gascamp, Sigmund Feisler, and Ray Cleburne; sister-in-law Marion Lampe and husband Willie.
