Asalee Brumfield, 84, of New Orleans, Louisiana, died Sept. 14, 2005, in a Pasadena, Texas hospital. Mrs. Brumfield was born Feb. 14, 1921, in Osyka, Mississippi, to Levi and Carrie Dixon Miller. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Watson Memorial Teaching Ministries, Central City location. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Purvis W. and Rita Brumfield of New Orleans and Randolph and Connie Brumfield of Brenham, Texas; daughter, Mattie Wells of New Orleans; brother, Robert Lee Miller of New Orleans; a stepsister, Dot Barnes of Kentwood, Louisiana; a stepbrother, Jessie Brumfield of Kentwood, Louisiana; sister-in-law, Birdie Brumfield Lott of Kentwood, Louisiana; brothers-in-law, Clifton Brumfield of Osyka, Mississippi and Veo Brumfield of New Orleans; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; her devoted husband of more than 60 years, Hollis Brumfield; sisters; and brothers. A service will be held at a later date.
