Audrey Bender

Audrey Louise Bender, 86, of Brenham, TX passed away on June 13, 2022.  Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M on Friday, June 17, 2022 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 18, 2022 with Pastor Ross Shelton officiating at Memorial Oaks Chapel with burial following at Evergreen Memorial Park in Wharton, TX.

Audrey was born on March 26, 1936 to Thomas Clayton and Viola (Huggins) James in Wharton, Tx. She grew up with 2 sisters on a country farm and attended school in Boling, Tx.She met her husband, Frank William Bender, at age 14, they were married on October 7, 1950 and they were married for 60 years.

She worked as a telephone operator in Kingman, AZ with her husband’s job at Duvall, they lived in Arizona for 20 years. They retired and came back to Texas where she worked at BISD as a cook.  She was a sweet and dedicated housewife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by son, Rickie Bender and fiancée, Carol; and daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Don Campbell along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Special friends Rosalie Johnson and Harold and Darlene Flora.
