August Kmiec

August Joseph Kmiec was born on August 1, 1935, 1 of 15 children born to John & Hedwig Kaliszewski Kmiec in Chappell Hill, Texas. August passed away peacefully at his residence in Chappell Hill on November 4, 2009. August proudly served his country in the United States Army stationed in Germany. He spent his retirement years on his farm in Chappell Hill where he enjoyed gardening and his goats. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law; Mark Edward Kmiec and Renee Kmiec and grandchild, Ashley Renee Kmiec, whom he called BooBoo, son; Douglas Allen Kmiec and grandchild, Marty Allen Kmiec, whom he called Johnny, son and daughter-in-law; Michael Wayne Kmiec and Ferrell Kmiec, and grandchild, Lauren Taylor Kmiec. Also surviving are his brother Johnny Kmiec and his wife Geneva of Cypress, sisters; Mary Jaworski and Florence Jezierski of Chappell Hill, Anzelma Janczak of Spring, Lucy Sebesta and Christine Skweres of Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents, by his brothers; Stephan, T.J., and Philip Kmiec, and sisters; Magdelena and Veronica Kmiec, Antonia Ognowski, and Gertrude Sobczak. He leaves numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. The family will receive friends and relatives at Memorial Oaks Chapel Friday, November 6, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held Saturday, November 7, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery in Chappell Hill, with Revered Merlin Swan officiating.
