Basilio Rodriguez

Basilio Gonzales Rodriguez, 71, of Brenham, died Feb. 7, 2006, at his residence. Mr. Rodriguez was born Jan. 25, 1935, in Kennedy, Texas, to Vicente Rodriguez and Maria De Los Angeles. He was a roofer and sheet metal worker. Survivors include his son, Thomas Luna of Brenham; daughter and son-in-law, Ofelia and Luis Hernandez of Brenham; nine grandchildren, Serena Rodriguez, Stephanie Applegate, Stevie Ray Sanders, Samantha Ray Sanders, Chase Janes, Thomas A. Luna, Christian Luna, Jessica Rodriguez and Courtney Rodriguez; three great-grandchildren, Andrew Vasquez, Anthony Vasquez and Alicia Mullanax; brothers, Juan Rodriguez of Houston, Reynoldo Rodriguez of Mexico, Aumberto Rodriguez of Mexico and Felix Rodriguez of Mexico; and sisters, Ernestina Casanova of Brownsville, Genoveva Casanova of Brownsville, Monce Hernandez of Mexico and Consuelo Torres of Mexico. He was preceded in death by his wife, Francisca Luna Rodriguez. The family will receive visitors from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10 in Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 at Fuente de Vida, 306 Martin Luther King Blvd., Brenham, with Rev. Mario Moreno officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham.
