Bellmonie Kathryn Grassmuck Shovers, born April 26, 1913 at Latium, passed away March 26, 2005, in Brenham. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Kathryn McKenzie Grassmuck; by her husband, Earl L. Shovers; by four brothers, Ivy, Albert, Anton and Henry Grassmuck; three sisters, Mellie Wisnoski, Nora Tockhorn and Irma Koch; one son, Joseph William Simank; and two daughters, Dorothy Mae Simank and Lois Evelyn Hinze. She is survived by one son, Oscar P. Simank, Jr. and wife May of Alamogordo, New Mexico; one son-in-law, Oscar Hinze of Wm. Penn; three grandsons; Gary D Laine Hinze and wife Donna and great-grandson, Tyler Lane of Wm. Penn, Lester Hinze of Wm. Penn and Keith Hinze of Corning, California; one granddaughter, Kristina King of Denham Springs, Louisiana; a favorite niece, Gladys Ordner of Brenham; and many other nieces and nephews. Ms. Shovers overcame obstacles and by personal sacrifices raised and taught her children to be law-abiding citizens. She provided loving care for her daughter Lois during a terminal, lengthy and debilitating illness. By the grace of God and her faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior, she is assured a place in Heaven for her eternal rest. The graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 30 at Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham.
