Benita Helm Kellogg, 90, widow of William L. Kellogg, passed away January 13, 2011 in College Station Medical Center. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, January 17, 2011 at 10:00 at Christ Lutheran Church in Brenham. Burial will take place in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends and relatives Sunday evening from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Linda and John Milligan; son and daughter-in-law Michael and Linda Kellogg; grandson Scott Milligan and wife Britta; granddaughter Lisa Pahl and husband Galen; granddaughter Amy Behrends and husband Clark; grandson, Will Kellogg; seven great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, Karl and August Helm; daughter, Deborah Ann Kellogg, son Charles Lawrence Kellogg, as well as three sisters and two brothers. Benita Kellogg was born November 18, 1920 in the Zionsville community to Carl and Augusta Discher Helm, and grew up in the Zionsville community, attending Harrisburg area schools. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, where she was also married to William L. Kellogg on Sept. 7, 1952. At the time of her death, she was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. She and Mr. Kellogg were owners of Brenham Mini Warehouses of Brenham. A member of the Lioness Club of Burton, she enjoyed sewing and quilting in her spare time.
