Benjamin Franklin Helton, 60, of Brenham, husband of Grace Helton, died August 17, 2009 in Grimes St. Joseph Hospital in Navasota. Mr. Helton was born in Muldoon, Texas to Reuben James and Martha Irene Fulkerson Helton. On October 11, 1969, he married Grace Hancock in Smithville, Texas. Mr. Helton served his country in the U. S. Army, and retired from Gas Compression Services, Inc. as a supervisor of production. Survivors include his wife, Grace Helton; son Christopher Helton and wife Tammy of Brenham; daughters Kim Eaton and husband John of Robinson, and Amanda Helton of Kingwood; grandchildren: Kayla Eaton, Kara Eaton, Dustin Hall, Tyler Hall, Madison Helton and Mason Helton; sisters Ruby Mach and husband Stanley of La Grange, Audrey Bohac of Weimar, Sally Elsner and husband Johnny of Weimar, Patsy Berumen and husband Sal of California, and LaNell McIllwain and husband Eugene of Austin; brothers-in-law Alan Hancock, and Jack Hancock and wife Ann, all of Smithville; sister-in-law Linda Elmore and husband David of Katy, and sister-in-law Cindy McKelroy and husband David of Lake Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, James Helton. Funeral services for Benjamin Franklin Helton will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 20, 2009 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. A graveside service will take place at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Christ Cemetery in Upton. The family will receive friends and relatives at Memorial Oaks Chapel Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Schwartz, Devon Mican, Stephen Holt, Tim Bohac, Mark Bohac, and Scott Bohac. Memorials may be directed to a favorite charity. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
