Bennie S. Kominczak, 81, husband of Jo Ann Vestal Kominczak, died February 21, 2010 in Trinity Medical Center. Born June 11, 1928 to Stanley Wallace and Annie Pearlie Marshall Kominczak, he was baptized in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Chappell Hill, and later confirmed in Christ the King Catholic Church in Houston. Bennie was educated in the Catholic school system in Houston. On January 1, 1959, he married Jo Ann Vestal in Houston, and enjoyed 51 years of marriage. He was employed as a driver/warehouseman in the trucking business. Bennie enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially camping in the Ozarks at the many gorgeous campsites located there. Country music shows in Branson, casino trips and playing the Texas lottery were favorite pastimes. Favorite hobbies after retirement included yard work and woodworking. Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Kominczak; son Russell Porter and special friend, Carla Prnka of Brenham; daughters and sons-in-law Lynda and Matthew Kubeczka of Chappell Hill; Kerry and Henry Bubba Hughes of Washington; Kay and Ronald Phillips of Brenham; grandchildren: Leslie Kubeczka Allen Wittu, Whitney Wagner Zach, Farrah Rich Will, Candace Prnka, Michael Kubeczka Carrie, Mitchell Kubeczka, Wade Hughes and Ryan Phillips; great-grandchildren: Justin Conway and special friend, Chelsea Lozano, Cullen Kubeczka, and Reece Wittu; great-great granddaughter, Bailey Grace Conway; sisters Valeria Simmons of Porter, brother-in-law Curtis Grabow of Houston, Coye Vestal of Brenham, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, an infant granddaughter, four brothers and two sisters. Funeral services for Bennie Stanley Kominczak will be held Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel with Dr. Frank Ashley III officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Serving as pallbearers are Michael Kubeczka, Mitchell Kubeczka, Wade Hughes, Ryan Phillips, Allen Wittu, Zach Wagner, and Will Rich. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Brantner, Tommy Kramer, and Dana Durham. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Brazos Valley, 302 E. Blue Bell Road, Brenham, Tx. 77834.
