Bernice Heckmann Rosenbaum, 78, of Brenham, died Friday, October 5, 2007 in Brenham Rest Home. Mrs. Rosenbaum was born October 11, 1928 to Louis and Minnie Fischer Heckmann. She was baptized November 11, 1928 in St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill, and confirmed April 18, 1945, also at St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill. Mrs. Rosenbaum attended Sandy Hill and William Penn schools. On November 30, 1947, she married Lee Roy Rosenbaum in St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill. Mrs. Rosenbaum was a housewife. She is survived by a son, Billy Rosenbaum of Brenham; daughters Diana Rosenbaum of Austin and Ann Gaskamp and husband Craig of Brenham; sisters-in-law Ella Mae Hinze and Margie Heckmann of Brenham, and four grandchildren: Beau and Cody Rosenbaum, and Jonathan and Melissa Gaskamp. Mrs. Rosenbaum was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lee Roy Rosenbaum; brother Fred Heckmann; infant brother James Heckmann, and brother-in-law Edwin Hinze. Funeral services for Bernice Heckmann Rosenbaum will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 8, 2007 at Christ Lutheran Church with Pastors Mike Button and Walter Schindehette officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. The family will receive friends and visitors from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 7 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Memorials may be given to Christ Lutheran Church or to the charity of your choice. Serving as pallbearers are Dale Hinze, Eldon Hinze, Aubrey Jaster, Mark Lehman, Kim Mueller, and Darren Hinze. Her grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main.
